IP routing involves determining the best path for a network packet to travel from its source to its destination in an IP network. This is done using routing protocols and technologies, as well as policies and configurations of the Internet infrastructure. Routers play a crucial role in forwarding packets based on their destination address and a set of rules, which are stored in a routing table that can be updated manually or dynamically through routing protocols.
