Reflexive relation

Reflexive relation

In mathematics, a binary relation R on a set X is considered reflexive if every element of X relates to itself. An example of this is the relation "is equal to" within the set of real numbers, as each number equals itself. Reflexivity, along with symmetry and transitivity, are the three properties that define equivalence relations.
