A cyclic group is a set of elements with a single associative binary operation, generated by a single element. Every infinite cyclic group is isomorphic to the additive group of integers and every finite cyclic group is isomorphic to the additive group of integers modulo n. Cyclic groups of prime order are simple groups and are used as building blocks for all groups.
