Mesh or grid is a discretization of a geometric domain into smaller shapes. It can be two-dimensional (simple polygon, polygon with holes, multiple domain and curved domain) or three-dimensional (simple polyhedron, geometrical polyhedron and multiple polyhedrons). Elements' shape and size must be understood before defining the mesh type.
