Transparency (behavior)

Transparency is an ethic that encourages openness, communication and accountability in companies, organizations, administrations and communities. It involves making it easy for others to see what actions are performed, such as clarifying fees at the outset and providing transaction records. In information security, transparency means hiding underlying mechanisms from view to protect intended function.
