Data Mining

Data mining

Data mining is the process of extracting patterns from large data sets using methods from machine learning, statistics, and database systems. It is part of the knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) process, which also includes data pre-processing, model and inference considerations, and post-processing. Data mining is distinct from data analysis, which tests models and hypotheses on a dataset.
